Nato in defence of peace: 2016 and beyond
This is the official conference organised by the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) and GLOBSEC, in partnership with the Atlantic Council, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
WSEF2016 aims to be a unique platform to talk about all the key issues on the Summit’s agenda. The participants will be top experts and key officials from NATO and its Member States. The Forum will explore the issues from the Summit agenda, look beyond 2016 and debate the future of the Alliance as the pillar of transatlantic security.
This is an extraordinary occasion to discuss most urgent issues regarding future of the Alliance. Representatives of all NATO Member States will sit together and discuss the challenges of the Alliance’s Eastern and Southern Flanks. They will debate on the ways to strengthen the cooperation and answer to threats in cyberspace, growing danger of terrorism, potential hybrid threats.
Among the issues planned for discussion are the conditions for a viable and mutually reinforcing transatlantic link; the economy of defence in times of strategic challenges; relations with partners, including the future of NATO enlargement; the nuclear dimension of Allied defences; and others.
